Our
Preferred clients /projects
Nightclubbiz.com
is seeking clients /projects that are truly groundbreaking or unique
in their ability to target a broadening consumer demographic. We're
looking for clients with truly unique concepts, or 'more aggressive'
concepts that target the interest of today's high dollar consumer.
Unlike the proverbial nightclub, which is generally based on little
more than frivolities, we're more interested in concepts that are
premised on 'the experience being offered'. More specifically,
we're not big believers that bombarding consumers with a barrage
of everything from lighting effects, VIP rooms, promoters, and celebrity
appearances facilitate the objectives of interest, loyalty, and
cash flow performance --at least for any significant length of time,
and certainly nothing you could build a reliable business model
on.
These
'peripheral' types of attributes are nice, but they're just that..
Peripheral. An underlying concept must exist, otherwise the
venue runs out of steam quickly, and as continues to be the case
with a large majority of nightclub entertainment offerings. In short,
we're interested in the design of the 'entertainment experience'.
As longtime analysts of the social entertainment trade, it's our
belief that as little as 10% of the marketplace is being tapped
into, and because much of the industry seems trapped in a predated
type of mindset.
Nightclubbiz.com
is more than, if not over qualified to assist with the conventional
bar, lounge, or nightclub and certainly welcomes these clients.
However, the 21st century has presented countless new demographic
opportunities, and the likes of which require a completely new type
of thinking and approach. We're interested in working or (possibly
even partnering with the right source) to rollout 21st century concepts
that are truly groundbreaking, while taking nightclub entertainment
to a whole new level.
Better
understanding the 21st century entertainment marketplace
The
social entertainment arena has changed dramatically throughout the
past decade. What used to be primarily a 21 to 24-demograpgic has
quickly morphed into a 21, upwards to 40-aged consumer. This is
due largely to a number of significant changes in the social landscape.
For one, we're now seeing nation wide record divorce rates of 52%,
overall higher separation rates, and an increasing many waiting
until well into their late 20's /early 30's to marry. Couple this
with an aging population and you have a landscape that's exploded
into a multitude of diverse demographics.
Indeed,
these statistics represent a radical shift in social landscape,
but more importantly a broadening market for social entertainment
and a highly lucrative one at that! While many venues continue to
pursue a 21 to 24-aged demographic, this is not where the real money
is, and as vocal as this traditional demographic may seem, they
represent just 6% of the 'actual' entertainment consumer
in the majority of marketplaces. The increasingly larger entertainment
demographic is either ignored, or unacknowledged. This makes little
sense, as why settle for silver when you can go for gold?
Why
is the nightclub industry slow to move on this?
Corporate
hospitality entities invest sizable amounts of money and other resources
into understanding changes in social landscape, as well as anticipating
them. This is why the casino, cruise line, and resort hospitality
entities have mushroomed into multi billion dollar industries throughout
the past 12-years. Nightclubs on the other hand are privately held
entities, which do not invest a great deal into statistical research,
nor too much else for that matter. Unlike their corporate hospitality
counterparts, they lack unity or any other sort of collective thinking
capability.
The
extent of thought that goes into the majority of nightclub entertainment
concepts is generally limited to that of décor schemes, DJ's,
promoters, and other types of gimmick like antics. Little effort
is invested into understanding the innate characteristics of a marketplace,
much less formulating a concept on the premise of 'sound understanding'.
At the risk of belittling much of the industry, these mom and pops
blindly follow, and or copycat something everyone else is doing
without a great deal of forethought.
Consequently,
progress of any discernable degree has been marginal within this
sector of the hospitality industry, and as incidents of violence,
poor service, liquor infractions, bizarre antics, and countless
closures /failures continue to demonstrate. To summarize, "the
nightclub industry has all but missed the boat." They're not
taken seriously in most cases and until they grow up, won't be for
a very longtime to come -at least not in the eyes of the consumers
that really count.
The
new 21st century nightclub entertainment marketplace needs new ideas,
new thinking, and new approaches. More intellectual resources must
be invested into social entertainment concepts, but more importantly,
understanding the increasingly composite needs of a marketplace,
which is rapidly expanding in age and diversity. Without a good
grasp of these elements, a nightclub entertainment offering is about
as worthy as the concrete it's built on. If you or your team is
considering the rollout of a groundbreaking social entertainment
concept, we'd be interested in hearing
from you. Maybe you're just considering the viability of such
a concept, or perhaps its part way there, but missing a few pieces
of the puzzle. We may very well be the resource that brings those
pieces to the table and likely much more!
